Did you know that scoops of frozen mayonnaise look just like vanilla ice cream? Ha-ha, neither did your kids. That was one of the challenges from our Fear Factor party last month. Congratulations to Juanita Theal who took home the grand prize! We are ramping up for a full slate of winter activities. I*ll be hosting another Drive-in movie night in the gym on Saturday, October 23 at 6pm. For this the students must construct a vehicle out of cardboard, wood or anything that doesn't actually run or burn fuel. We serve them popcorn and drinks while they sit with their friends in their *cars* and enjoy a movie on the big screen. Next up is the Hallo-TEEN Party on Saturday, October 30 at 6pm. We will have a pumpkin-carving contest among several other fun games. Also, don*t forget, Student Life still hosts our *Ignite* Student Night every Wednesday from 6:00 until 7:30.
I would like to add just a short personal note. You all have wonderful kids and I am blessed to work with them. We are not the largest youth group around, but I am so glad that our great God does not measure the health of a body numerically. I see the potential in your kids to be radical for God, to follow Him and serve Him unlike any others in their generation. It doesn't take a big youth group to make a difference for Christ, just a few that are willing to be completely His. I am praying for you moms and dads do what*s right no matter what; to take heart and *be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.* I look forward this month to seeing all your kids and their friends!
